About This Project

A multi-year effort to restore native cottonwood and willow habitat along the Rio Grande bosque between Pilar and Velarde. Working with Pueblo land stewards, acequia farmers, and watershed councils to remove invasive tamarisk, replant native species, and restore seasonal flood cycles that sustain the corridor's biodiversity.

Documented Impact

14,200 native trees and shrubs planted. 3.4 miles of tamarisk removed. Water table depth improved by 18 inches in monitored zones.
